Psyche Wounds

In essence, Psyche Wounds equal our persistent Toxic Beliefs, first of ourselves and secondly the world around us.

It’s the darkness of our soul, which sucks our life force from us and drains our energies. It annihilates our happiness and eradicates all of life’s joys.

However, it doesn’t imply that we are helpless, wicked or useless. Nor that our intentions are ferocious and vicious, or that we are “blemish goods”.

Psyche wounds influence everything that we think, feel, say and how we tend to behave. For this reason, it is essential that we devote the necessary attention and time to it so that we can better understand and neutralize it.

Psyche wounds aren’t the actual event or incident itself, it is the emotional residue of traumatic situations that were and/or still are experienced by us and which have a toxic impact on our prevailing belief system. These wounds exert a toxic influence on our existing belief system. Psyche wounds resulting from traumatic experiences might range from brutal incidents (e.g. abuse, betrayal, neglect, …etc.) to the less obvious, but stubborn and persisting everyday frustrations and irritations (e.g. the Little Jackal Trap).

Psyche wounds often surface in our lives inexplicably and in many different ways. Feelings of sorrow are a variant of psyche wounds, not having peace of mind is another variation and anxiety, as well as depression, is another. Feelings of desperation, fears, confusion, worries, distress, loss, disappointment, anger, misery, frustrations, unhappiness, resentment… etc., all can – to a greater or lesser extent – be attributed to psychic wounds

Did you get angry this week because things didn’t turn out as expected? Did you get frustrated because of a traffic jam, when you were returning home? Are you still in pain because someone left you? All these toxic feelings are doing nothing much… other than overwhelm us and repetitively surface as happiness derailers in our lives.

Can you imagine what your life would be like if you got rid of all of them?

Even though these thoughts and sensations overwhelm and make life miserable for us on a daily basis, we never slow down or stop to think about which are the psyche wounds that darken our soul, mind and being, to shed light on them and work to neutralise them. Why is it that we never give ourselves a chance to do that? Why do we rather opt for the escape route of depression? Anxiety? Why are we unable to light the lamp of understanding that will banish all darkness from our souls?

Maybe this happens because of our vulnerabilities, insecurities, uncertainties and fears. But mainly psyche wounds, in synchronicity with our stress barometer, prevail in our lives because we don’t take the much-needed time out to truly understand the origin, impact and influence of our psyche wounds on what and who we are.

Wise Words, Simple Truths

"No amount of guilt can solve the past, and no amount of anxiety can change the future."
