Our Methodology

The basic methodology to unlock success in any aspect of life is surprisingly straightforward and universally applicable, whether it’s your career, relationships, personal business, marriage or parenting. At the heart of achieving success are four fundamental principles, presented here in order of significance.

Let’s break it down into four key steps:
  1. Decide: Decision-making starts with defining WHAT you want to achieve and, more importantly, WHY it matters to you.
  2. Prepare: Preparation is the foundation of success. It involves getting yourself ready and equipped for the journey you’ve decided to undertake. It involves equipping yourself with the skills, tools, resources and knowledge needed to turn your decisions into productive actions.
  3. Excel: Implementation is the key. Excelling implies translating your decisions and preparations into action with dedication and to the best of your ability.
  4. Mastery: True success is achieved when decisions are executed and preparations lead to a higher level of competence (i.e. established as an action model).

These steps apply universally, whether you’re tackling simple tasks like cooking or more complex life pursuits like building a career or caring for a family. The bottom line is clear: decide, prepare, act and master, and success is inevitable! No doubt about it!

However, while the principles are simple, executing them can be intricate due to various factors that might hinder or obstruct the smooth flow of the process. At the Career Center, our mission is twofold: first, assisting clients in identifying the obstacles preventing them from achieving success, and second, offering advice, guidance and support in developing the skills and resources necessary to navigate and overcome these hurdles effectively. Identifying and managing these obstacles is where the real challenge lies.

Our approach involves a methodology we term “complexity simplification“. This involves the comprehensive exploration and assessment (quantitatively, qualitatively and cumulatively) of:

  • Behaviour, actions and habits,
  • Emotions, moods and feelings,
  • Skills, abilities and competencies,
  • Mental processes, reasoning and ways of thinking,
  • Unconscious causes.

By scrutinising (i.e. critical questioning and thinking) these elements, we determine which aspects contribute to or impede the decision-prepare-excel-mastery process. Our methodology is not about right/wrong or correct/incorrect judgements but determining what works (effective) and what doesn’t (ineffective) within the context of your circumstances.

To encapsulate our approach, we emphasise four key principles:
  1. Mind Evolution: We don’t just impart facts, knowledge and skills; we guide individuals to evolve a closed mind into an open mind.
  2. Contextual Effectiveness: Success is relative to the context in which actions unfold.
  3. Personal Responsibility within Group Accountability: We advocate for individual responsibility within the broader context of group accountability.
  4. Facilitating Learning: We don’t teach nor do we instruct. Instead, we create an environment and climate where people can learn and grow.

Through these principles and our complexity simplification approach, we empower clients to navigate the intricate path of success with resilience and effectiveness.
