Eye Movement and Rotations

Eye movement and rotations are used for desensitization, reprocessing and to relieve the distress associated with disturbing memories. It involves recalling a specific troublesome experience while following a side-to-side or a rotational visual stimulus delivered by the therapist.

These eye movements and rotations help to reduce the emotional charge of the memory or experience. It can then be safely discussed, digested and stripped of the power to trigger anxiety, stress, defiance and avoidance or aggression.
