Unconscious Causes

The “unconscious” forces or factors that may contribute to your current troubles, such as underlying beliefs, values and sabotage programs.

For Example…

  • Uncovering and understanding past experiences that still bother you.
  • How to become more aware of your self-deceptions and own defence mechanisms.
  • How to recognize the “games” being played by you and other people.
  • How to get in touch and deal with the conflicts and repressed feelings inside you.
  • How to remember and understand your dreams.
  • Realizing the continuing impact of your family life and early experiences.
  • Understand your needs and urges such as dependencies, independencies, interdependencies, aggressiveness, sexual active/inactive, hostility, resentment, …etc.

Guiding questions…

These questions aim at stimulating a more open-minded and critical approach to “soul searching” the problem…

  • Could some experiences in the past contribute to the present problem?
  • Could some chemical imbalances, environmental influences or physical aspects influence the problem? If yes, What and How? If not, Why?
  • What specific needs, wants and defences are causing difficulties?
  • What conscious strategy can replace your unconscious life script or sabotage program? Can that be done? Do you think it would be effective?
  • Are the beliefs you hold valid, realistic, ridiculous or absurd? And – in your opinion – why?
  • How did it originate (i.e. where/how did you learn it)? Is the source really a reliable role model to follow?
  • What will it cost you – and the people around you – when you hold on to these beliefs?

To be able to fully grasp and understand unconscious motives, it is necessary that the body’s intelligence is also explored because the unconscious is mainly managed and influenced by the body/biological processes. That is why it is important to connect with the body’s intelligence in one way or another.
