Emotions, Moods and Feelings

Emotions, moods and feelings play a tremendously decisive role in how successful a mastery effort ends up being. For this reason, it is crucial that emotions, moods and feelings, which might give rise to derailment or stuckness, are identified, taken into account and dealt with as well as possible.

For Example…

  • Suffering from depression, loneliness, sadness, guilt or feeling a failure.
  • You don’t give a damn, apathy and a feeling that nothing matters.
  • Being overly eager to please others, an indecisive person or an obedient follower.
  • Being anxious, fearful, tense, shy, uptight, having a restless sleeping pattern or suffering from insomnia.
  • Often dealing with physical ailments such as aches and pains, tiredness, poor appetite or chronic fatigue.
  • Being overwhelmed, confused, bewildered, helpless, lost or caught up in a Newton’s Cradle Trap.
  • Experience feelings of resentment, anger, distrust, feelings of betrayal or wanting to harm someone.
  • You are afraid that you will hurt yourself, or someone else, have a nervous breakdown or experience burnout.
  • Experience unexplained changes in feelings, unexpected mood swings of highs and lows or emotional instability.

Guiding questions…

  • When are the feelings – associated with undesirable emotions – experienced?
  • Why does the emotions and feelings combination continue?
  • Are the feelings and/or emotions – either directly or indirectly – related to a particular set of triggers?
  • Is this emotion and/or feeling generally present, or only under specific circumstances, situations or conditions?
  • What type of negative influences do the feelings have?
  • Any positive impact?
  • What kinds of unwanted feelings are involved?
  • How might these feelings be managed? Is it at all possible to manage these feelings?
